East Kalimantan-based coalminer PT Kideco Jaya Agung has targeted to produce 3.2 million tons of coal in the second quarter of this year, about the same volume produced in the last quarter, a company official said Tuesday.
Kideco produced 3.25 million tons of coal in the January-March period of this year, said Kideco?s administration manager Ali Patan.
?The climate during this quarter is good, and there is no disruption in production despite our legal dispute with East Kalimantan administration,? Ali said.
East Kalimantan provincial administration and Pasir regency administration filed a lawsuit against Kideco last month on the grounds that the company had not offered them its shares.
Kideco, a subsidiary of Sam Tan Co. Ltd of South Korea, plans to produce around 12.5 million tons this year from its coalmine in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan. (godang)
