Kideco secures 1.5 MT coal supply contract to Suralaya

East Kalimantan-based coal producer PT Kideco Jaya Agung on Wednesday signed an agreement with PT Indonesia Power for the supply of 1.5 million tons ultra low-sulphur and low-ash coal to Suralaya coal-fired power plant in Banten.

Kideco said in a statement that coal price on the deal was set at around $38.00 per metric ton on CIF basis at coal hopper at the 3400-MW power plant's port.

Kideco said coal delivery would start this month for a period of 12 months.

Kideco targets to produce 19 million tons of coal this year, of which about 13 million tons will be exported to Asia, Europe and the US, while the remaining portion for domestic markets. (godang)
