Kideco signs coal supply deal to Tanjung Kasam power plant

East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Kideco Jaya Agung on Friday signed deal to supply low CV coal to Tanjung Kasam 2x55 MW power plant which will be built in Batam island.

Under the deal, Kideco will supply 360,000 tonnes of coal per annum to Tanjung Kasam starting 2009 for 15 years.

The plant is owned by local company PT. Tanjung Kasam Power. The power plant will be constructed by China?s Dong Fang Electric Corporation, which won the engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC) of the US$96.99 million power plant.

Kideco operates a coal mining complex in East Kalimantan with annual output of around 20MTPA. (godang)
