KIJA plans to develop 260 MW power plant

IDX-listed industrial estate developer PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) plans to develop a 260 MW gas steam power plant in Cikarang, West Java.

Bisnis Indonesia quoted KIJA Business Development Director Hyanto Wihadhi as saying that the company through subsidiary PT Bekasi Power has been operating a 130 MW power plant. ?We want to add another 260 MW capacity,? he said, adding that the company is open to cooperation with partners in the planned project.

No further details were provided about the planned power plant project, but Hyanto said that Jababeka plans to talk with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN first before proceeding with the project.

Electricity sales has now become the largest revenue contributor for KIJA, which in the first semester of this year booked electricity sales of Rp 619.88 billion, or representing 45.54 percent of total revenue. (*)
