Kijing terminal cargo throughput rises to 3.59 million tons

Cargo throughput at Kijing non-container terminal in West Kalimantan reached 3.59 million tons as of November 2025, reflecting increased logistics activity in the region.
Operator PT PTP Nonpetikemas said throughput at the terminal has grown steadily, from 1.95 million tons in 2023 to 2.75 million tons in 2024, with volumes projected to approach 4 million tons in 2025.
Dry bulk cargo accounted for the largest share of throughput, totaling 2.03 million tons. Commodities handled include bauxite, coal, aluminum hydroxide, caustic soda, and other general cargo linked to mining and industrial activities.

The terminal supports logistics for projects associated with Mining Industry Indonesia, including PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia.
Operational performance also improved, with average throughput reaching 3,620 tons per ship per day, compared with 879 tons per ship per day in the same period of 2024.
Terminal Kijing is part of PTP Nonpetikemas’ operations in West Kalimantan, which also include facilities in Dwikora, Sintete, and Ketapang. The terminals handle a range of commodities such as crude palm oil, fertilizer, rubber, plywood, and packaged rice.
The company said operational improvements have focused on optimizing loading and unloading processes, logistics flow, and vessel turnaround times.
