Koba Tin appoints Sidek president director

Tin mining company PT Koba Tin appointed Mohd Anuar Sidek the president director of the company effective Friday, replacing Peter Jackson, Dow Jones reported Friday.

The change followed Malaysia Smelting Corp. Bhd 's acquisition of a 75 percent stake in the Indonesian tin producer from Australia-based Iluka Resources Ltd. in April this year, the company said.

Koba Tin's production capacity is 10,000 metric tons a year. Its mining site located in Desa Lubuk Besar village in Koba district, Bangka Belitung province.

PT Tambang Timah holds the other 25 percent in the company. (*)
