Koba Tin records production increase in 2001

Australian miner Iluka Resources Limited announced on Friday an increase in tin metal production of its Indonesian based subsidiary PT Koba Tin from 10,900 tons in 2000 to 15,446 tons in 2001.
Koba Tin production in the fourth quarter of 2001 was 4,148 tons, compared to last year?s corresponding production of 1,080 tons.
Iluka said the increase was based on additional supplies from small-scale miners.
Iluka, which holds 75 percent stake at Koba Tin in November 2001 negotiated an agreement to sell its interest to Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad. There was no information whether or not the sales process has been completed. (alex)
