Kodeco asks for amendment on E. Java gas supply contract

Korea?s Kodeco Energy Company Limited (Indonesia) has asked the government to amend natural gas supply contract it had signed early in September with state power company PT Pembangkit Listrik Jawa Bali (PJB), a senior House member said on Wednesday.

?Kodeco said it can now supply to PJB 100 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas,? said Julius Bobo, who chairs a House team which studies East Java?s natural gas supply and demand.

Kodeco operates West Madura PSC Block in East Java. The company?s top officials together with executives of other gas producers operating in East Java met with the House team on Wednesday.

Early in September, Kodeco signed a new contract with PJB to supply to East Java 90 MMCFD of natural gas, up from the 73 MMCFD stipulated in the old contract. PJB, a unit of state power company PLN in charge of Java and Bali, operates three combined cycle power plants with total capacity of 1,500 megawatts in Gresik, East Java. (godang)
