South Korean oil, gas firm Kodeco Energy is forced to cut down oil and gas production from Poleng TAC offshore East Java due to leakage in the pipeline.

BPMIGAS Deputy Chairman in Charge of operations Dodi Hidayat the leakage occurred in the pipeline that connected two platforms in the TAC, which caused temporary shut down of the two platforms. The shut down has caused production from the TAC to shrink to 5,000 BOPD and 15 MMCFD of gas from the 10,000 BPOD and 60 MMCFD normally, Dodi said.

Dodi said the leak occurred last week and it might take another week before the production resumed at normal rate.

Gas from Poleng together with gas from nearby West Madura PSC-which is also operated by Kodeco- is transmitted through 14-inch 65-km pipeline to onshore proessing facility in industrial city of Gresik. Kodeco sold its gas to state gas distribution firm PGN and fertilizer maker PT.Petrokimia Gresik.

Dodi said oil, gas production from West Madura PSC remained normal at 4,500 BPOD and 45 MMCFD. (godang)
