State owned oil; gas firm said on Wednesday that its production-sharing contractor Kodeco Energy Limited would boost East Java natural gas supply next year.

?Gas supply from Kodeco operated West Madura offshore production sharing contract area will be increased from current 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to some 60 MMCFD next year to anticipate decreasing gas supply from BP?s gas field in Kangean Block,? Mulyani Wahyono, Pertamina?s gas development manager told Petromindo.com in an interview.

Mulyani said currently Kodeco is developing several new gas fields for production.

Kodeco supply natural gas through the 65 kms pipeline to industrial town of Gresik, which is the home for fertilizer plant Petrokimia Gresik and Gresik combined cycle power plant. (alex/godang)
