Korea Midland Power (Komipo) discussed new investment plans and cooperation on the development of new power plants in Indonesia with latter?s State Minister and National Development Planning, Bambang Brodjonegoro.

The company met with the minister on September 20 during the 2017 Indonesian Infrastructure Investment Forum held at the Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel in Seoul, news portal businesskorea.co.kr reported on Saturday.

Komipo during the meeting also requested for active support and cooperation of the Indonesian government for the company in running its projects in Indonesia, the news portal said, but no further details were provided.

The request was made as Komipo?s 1,000 MW PLTU Cirebon II coal-fired power plant project in Cirebon, West Java, has been hampered by court lawsuit filed by local administration.

Komipo is a major foreign investor in the Indonesian power generation business. Komipo's PLTU Cirebon 1 (660MW) and PLTA Wampu hydro power plant (45MW) recorded the first and second highest utilization rates among local power plants in 2015.

Aside from PLTU Cirebon II, other projects include PLTA Tanggamus (55MW), PLTU Cirebon III 660MW and PLTA Siborpa (114MW). Korea Midland Power owns 3,900 MW power generation facilities in Indonesia. (*)
