Kondur, partners to resume Malacca Strait exploration drilling Q2

Australian oil and gas company Novus Petroleum Limited said on Wednesday that Kondur Petroleum, the operator of Malacca Strait production sharing contract (PSC) in Central Sumatra would start spudding MS-L2 exploration well in the second quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, Novus said Malacca Strait production for the first quarter of this year averaged 2,777 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), (Novus net) compared to 3,044 BOPD in the previous quarter.

Kondur Petroleum holds 34 percent working interest in Malacca Strait PSC, while CNOOC, Novus and Malacca Petroleum hold 33 percent, 26 percent and 7 percent, respectively. (alex)
