Korindo Group seeks to sign PPA for biomass power plant project

PT BioGreen Power Kobar, an emerging independent power plant company, which is member of KORINDO Group, stated that it is looking forward to signing a power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN for a planned 10 MW bio mass power plant project with at Pangkalan Bun in Kota Waringin Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan Province.

Geunhyo An, Director of the company told Petromindo.com Friday that currently several documents for the contract are being reviewed following changes made by PLN to the planned project.

He said that the schedule for signing of the PPA will depend on PLN. ?We are just trying to fulfill the documents that are needed,? he said.

Earlier Geunhyo revealed that the project will use Mangium (Acacia mangium) and Pelita (Eucalyptus pelita) woods as the feed stock. For developing this project the company is budgeting around US$2 million per MW and will use technology from Korea and Japan. The company has about 70,000 hectares of mangium and pelita plantations.
