Korindo plans biomass power plant in Jayapura

Head of the provincial administration?s energy and mining office Bangun Manurung was quoted by Antara as saying Monday that the local government welcomes the planned power plant project by Korindo amid lack of power supply in the province.
Bangun said the local administration is currently waiting for Korindo to realize the plan as the group has been engaged in developing power plant in Kalimantan.
As reported by this portal earlier, Korindo?s coal mining unit PT Bimaruna Abadi is currently conducting a feasibility study for a planned a 2x100 MW mine mouth power plant in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan.
Bimaruna currently operates a coal mine in Pangkalan Bun with estimated reserves of 100 million tons of coal with low calorific value of 3,000 kcal/kg GAR. (*)
