KOSEP opens tender for 240,000 tons of bituminous coal

INVITATION TO BID
For Steaming Coal Supply Long-Term Contract

KOSEP is inviting a bid for Long-Term Contract of Coal Supply from qualified suppliers on ITB for Youngheung or Samcheonpo Power Plants as follows,

1. Bid No. : KOSEP-Coal-2007-LT01

2. Quantity: Bidders shall offer at least 240,000 Metric Tons per year on both the FOBT and CFR price basis. KOSEP has the right to award the contract on either a FOBT loading port or a CFR discharging port and shall determine the shipping schedules within Contractual period at its own discretion.

3. Term of Contract: three (3) years or longer basis
Deliveries of coal shall begin from 1st January, 2008 and shall continue
thereafter for a period of three (3) years until 31st December, 2010.

4. Procurement Method: International Bidding as per ITB

5. Qualification of the bidder:
Coal producers or Marketing companies owned by coal producers or Trading companies who has had any performance record of coal supply contracts with power generation companies (or electric power companies) of Korea, Japan or Taiwan in the last three (3) years, and shall meet the whole requirements of ITB including but not limited to, coal quality specification, shipping schedule, etc.

6. Coal Specification: Bituminous coal spec. for KOSEP in ITB

7. Bid closing date: 02:00 P.M., 4, December, 2007 (Korean Standard Time).
