KPC contractor?s workers hold strike, affecting production

Some 200 workers of PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia, on Tuesday hold strike in Sanggata after Thiess declined to meet the workers? demand on overtime salary.
Bambang Susanto KPC spokesperson told Petromindo.Com Tuesday that the strike completely halted Thiess mining activities and cost KPC same 9,000 tons per day.
Normally KPC produces some 50,000 ton of coal per day.
Bambang said Thiess had continued to negotiate with the striking workers.
Thiess, along with PT Pamapersada Nusantara and PT Petrosea are KPC?s mining contractors.
KPC, which operates a giant coal mine in Sanggata, East Kalimantan. (alex/godang)
