Coal mining company PT Kaltim Prima Coal is mulling filing a lawsuit against the Indonesian Prosperous Workers Union (SBSI) for provoking its workers to disrupt production at its coal mine in Sangatta, East Kalimantan.
"Yes, of course," KPC president Grant Thorne told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday, when asked if the company considered filing a suit against the radical labor union.
KPC has blamed SBSI for being behind the three-week-long worker strike at the coal mine, which had forced the company to stop production and declare a force majeure.
Thorne said the company mulled a suit against the labor union on the grounds that it had disrupted its production process, which he said was against the Indonesian law. (*)
