East Kalimantan coal giant PT Kaltim Prima Coal, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal mining company PT Bumi Resources Tbk, received an award from the Ministry of Finance for being the largest contributor from the private sector to the government?s non-tax state revenue (or also known locally as PNBP).

The state non-tax revenue includes coal royalty.

Bumi said in a statement on Wednesday that KPC CFO, Ashok Mitra, received the award from Deputy Minister of Finance, Mardiasmo.

?KPC is the largest PNBP contributor in Indonesia from the private sector and Pertamina (state-owned oil and gas firm) is the largest dividend payer from the public sector to the Government of Indonesia,? Bumis said in the statement.

KPC, the country?s biggest producer of thermal coal, operates mines in East Kalimantan. The company plans to increase coal production next year to 27 million tons from the estimated 59 million tons for this year, company General Manager Poltak Sinaga told reporters recently.
