KPC?s coal production rises to 17.6 million tons in 2002

East Kalimantan based coalminer PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) said Wednesday its annual production had reached 17.6 million tons in 2002, well up from 15.6 million tons in 2001.
Last year?s production had been targeted at 17.2 million tons.
KPC?s production target for 2003 was 17.7 million tons, company spokesman Dradjad Panjawi told Petromindo.Com Wednesday.
KPC operates a huge coalmine in East Kutai in East Kalimantan province.
It is the process of divesting 51 percent of its shares to state coalminer PT Batubara Bukit Asam and companies controlled by East Kalimantan and East Kutai administrations. (godang)
