KPC?s Q1 production down

East Kalimantan giant coal miner PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) produced 4.166 million tons of coal during the first quarter of 2003, lower than previous quarter?s production of 4,388 million tons, company official said.
Company official M. Soleh said sales during the first quarter amounted to 4.520 million tons.
Soleh said the company targeted to produce 4.590 million tons and to sell 4.653 million tons in the second quarter of this year.
KPC is one of the country?s largest coal miner, exporting most of its production. The company is equally owned by Rio Tinto Plc and BP Plc. (godang)
