Coal mining giant PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) said that it's committed to help repair damaged public roads in the town of Sangatta in East Kalimantan province.
KPC external relations manager for social infrastructure project Husein Akma said that the company had appointed its sub contractor to repair some 7 Km road connecting Sangatta and the Teluk Lingga area.
But Husein said that that repair work had to be delayed because of the heavy rain. He said that there's no use to repair the road amid the weather condition because it would not last long.
Several local politicians have criticized KPC for not immediately lending its hands to help repair the damaged roads in Sangatta. The politicians said that KPC had been exploiting local resources and the road had also been used by to transport its employees. (*)
