Top coalmining house PT. Bumi Resources said it had established a Japan subsidiary, the company said in its report to The Jakarta Stock Exchange released Wednesday.

The subsidiary called Bumi Resources Japan Company (BRJC) limited was established on July 30 to market Kaltim Prima Coal?s production in Japan. KPC is a subsidiary of Bumi.

It is not immediately clear what the role of BRJC will be, as Japan tradinghouse Mitshubishi Corp. holds the right to market KPC?s coal in Japan.

KPC official earlier said that it sought to sell around 10 million tons of KPC coal to Japan this year. (alex)
