KPK probes bribery case involving Sutan

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged bribery case involving Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission VII on energy Sutan Bhatoegana, and former chairman of the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Rudi Rubiandini, Kompas reported Thursday.

The paper said that KPK would focus on investigating meetings between the two. The commission was scheduled to question?s Rudi?s driver, Asep Toni, on Wednesday, but the latter failed to show up.

Sutan was suspected of receiving bribe in relation to allocation of funds in the 2013 state budget for the ministry of energy and mineral resources.

Rudi is currently serving a 7-year jail-term after he was caught red handed by KPK in August of last year of receiving bribe money from Singapore-based oil trader, Kernel Oil. (*)
