KPK probing Susilo on SKK Migas bribery case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating Energy and Mineral Resources Deputy Minister Susilo Siswoutomo in relation to the bribing case involving former of the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Rudi Rubiandini.

Susilo was questioned as a witness to the legal case of PT Kaltim Parna Industri?s President Director Artha Meris Simbolon, who has been declared as a suspect in the corruption case. ?He (Susilo) was probed as a witness to AMS (Artha Meris Simbolon)," KPK New and Information Division Head Priharsa Nugraha was quoted by Kompas saying on Monday.

Susilo, who arrived at KPK at around 11.00 WIB (western Indonesian time), refused to talk to the press before meeting the KPK. He only stated, ?Later, please.?

In investigating the corruption case, KPK has also questioned Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik. After being questioned, Jero told the press recently that he was asked about the mechanism of determining gas prices.

Artha was suspected to having bribed Rudi to recommend the ministry approve Kaltim Parna?s request for a reduction of the price of gas supllies for the petrochemical firm.

The Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced Rudi to seven years in jail for receiving bribes from various parties, including US$522,500 from Artha. (*)
