The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Edy Hermantoro, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, for questioning as a witness to the bribery case involving a business woman.
?He will be questioned as a witness to the suspect,? Priharsa Nugraha, Head of News and Publiccation Division at KPK, was quoted by metrotvnews.com as saying on Monday.
Earlier, the KPK declared Artha Meris Simbolon, President Director of PT Kaltim Parna Industri (KPI), as a suspect, accusing her of providing bribes amounting to US$522,500 to Rudi Rubiandini, former head of upstream authority SKK Migas, who has been sentenced years in jail.
The bribes were said to have been given to Rudi in exchange for his help to recommend the ministry lower the gas price supplied to KPI, which is a petrochemical producer in East Kalimantan. (*)
