The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon 107 mining companies including holders of KK mining contracts and PKP2B coal mining contracts for a meeting on August 27 to discuss three main topics of mining contract renegotiation, state revenue, and environmental issues, Investor Daily reported on Monday.

?We (the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) have previously discussed the three issues with the KPK. And later on August 27, there will be a meeting with all holders of KK and PKP2B,? Secretary of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal Paul Lubis told the paper.

Paul said that in the meeting, the KPK will push the mining firms to follow the existing law and regulations to among others make sure that the state would not suffer financial loses such as in terms of royalty arrears.

He added that the ministry has already submitted to the KPK data regarding the mining royalty arrears. (*)
