KPS adds one tug-and-barge unit this month

Transshipping services company PT Karya Pacific Shipping (KPS) is planning to add one unit of tug and barge to its fleet later this month.

Kahar Chua, a director of the company told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company thus far has seven units of tug and barge, each with the loading capacity of 7500 tons to support its operation in Palembang, South Sumatra.

''We will add one more unit this month, which will bring our fleet to eight units this year," he said.

He said in the first two months of this year the company has transshipped a total of 200,000 tons of coal in Palembang. "This is in line with our target," he said.
