Krakatau: Blast furnace to start operation in 2016

IDX-listed steel giant PT Krakatau Steel Tbk said that its new blast furnace facility will be completed in 2016 and start operation in the second half of the year, a delay from the initial schedule of third quarter of 2015.
The firm said in a presentation material last week that construction progress has reached 93.2 percent as per end November.
The US$656.3 million facility has a production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year.
The blast furnace, located in Banten, comprises of sintering plant, coke oven plant and hot metal treatment plant.
