Krakatau selects Rekind as EPC contractor for boiler facility

PT Krakatau Daya Listrik (KDL), a subsidiary of IDX-listed steel maker PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, said that it has chosen state-owned engineering company PT Rekayasa Industry (Rekind) as the EPC contractor for a planned coal-fired boiler with capacity of 2x350 tons per hour following tender process.
The boiler will be installed at Krakatau?s 2x80 MW coal-fired power plant in Cilegon, Banten Province.
Indra Pinem, Planning and Commerce Director at KDL told Petromindo.com on Monday that currently the company is in discussion with Rekind for the Design Contract Agreement. "We hope that by May 30 at the latest, construction of the project will be started," Indra said, adding that the project is expected to be completed in 30 months. The project is located at Krakatau?s steel plant complex in Cilegon.
