Krakatau Steel plans coal-fired power plant

State steel maker PT.Krakatau Steel (KS), through its subsidiary PT.Krakatau Daya Listrik, is planning to build a 320 ?MW coal-fired power plants in Cilegon, Banten province next year to cut costs.
KS CEO Daenulhay was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia as saying that the US$320 million plant will be used to cut dependency on gas and fuel oil, which were far more expensive than coal. Currently, KS has a 400-MW power plant, which uses gas and fuel oil. (*)
