Krakatau Steel?s new power plant to start operation end 2013

PT Krakatau Daya Listrik, a subsidiary of state-controlled steel giant PT Krakatau Steel, expects its 120 MW combined cycle power plant in Cilegon, Banten, to start operation by the end of this year.

This was said by the company in its website seen on Wednesday. Corporate Secretary Andi Firdaus said that progress of the construction work has reached 90 percent per end of August.

The new power plant is expected to reduce the cost of power generation by 20 percent, and ensure electricity supply in the steel industry compound.
