Krakatau to build coal jetty in Banten

PT Krakatau Daya Listrik (KDL), a subsidiary of IDX-listed steel manufacturer PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, plans to build a coal jetty at the latter?s steel complex in Cilegon, Banten, to support coal supply for the planned 2x80 MW coal-fired power plant.

KDL said in a recent statement that it had in November signed a MoU for the planned jetty project with affiliate port developer PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS).

The company said that construction of the jetty project is expected to be completed within ten months. KDL has previously signed an agreement with another affiliate firm PT Krakatau National Resources for coal supply to the planned power plant.

In addition to the 2x80 MW power plant, KDL also plans to develop another 1x150 MW coal-fired power plant, also in Cilegon.
