Krakatau to name EPC contractor for coal boiler project next month

PT Krakatau Daya Listrik, a subsidiary of IDX-listed steel maker PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, is expected to announce next month the winning bidder for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a coal fired boiler 2x350 tons steam per four for the 2x80 MW coal-fired power plant in Cilegon, Banten.
This was said by Krakatau Steel President Director Sukandar (one name) on Friday. He said that if everything goes as planned, construction of the Rp 1 trillion coal boiler project is expected to start in the first quarter of next year, in the hope that it could be completed in 2018.
The project is located at Krakatau?s steel plant complex in Cilegon, where the company is planning to develop a 1x150 MW coal-fired power plant. The company hopes to start tender process for this project at the end of this year.
