IDX-listed steel market PT Krakatau Steel will supply between 4,000-5,000 tons of steel products for the construction of a new cement plant of PT Semen Padang.

The two companies signed an MoU last week, Krakatau said in a statement received Monday. The first shipment of about 850,000 tons of steel is expected to take place in September.

Semen Padang is currently developing its sixth cement plant (called the VI Indarung project), whose ground breaking was held on May 26. Construction of the 3.5 million tons per annum-capacity plant is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2016.

Elsewhere, the statement also said that Semen Pandang has signed an MoU with state-owned surveyor firm PT Sucofindo on consultation, survey, verification, and inspection works.
