KrisEnergy to start exploration of Udan Emas Block

KrisEnergy said it will conduct a 2D seismic survey along 250 kilometers areas of Teluk Arguni and Arguni Bawah in its production sharing contract of Udan Emas Block, West Papua, in December this year.
?We expect to conduct the seismic survey for about five months,? deputy head of mining technique with KrisEnergy (Udan Emas) BV, Kusmutarto Basuki, said during a discussion of documents of environmental management and supervision (UKL-UPL) in Kaimana, West Papua, on Thursday.
Present during the discussion were Abdul Rahim Fuarada, chairman of Kaimana regency?s development planning and environment Board; Kaimana?s local parliamentary member Dominggus Ruwe, and Kaimana Tribal Society Head Harun Sabuku.
Kusmutarto noted that the UKP-UPL documents will become a guideline for KrisEnergy to implement its explorations in the area.
Fuarada said that his local administration will support the oil and gas explorations in the area. ?The development of oil and gas will certainly create a multiplier effect to our local economy. But KrisEnergy should heed the protection of environment in the area. And it should coordinate with other sides concerned and bind a cooperation with all stakeholders before starting the exploration activities,? he added.
