Coking coal producer PT Kartika Selabumi Mining (KSM) has bagged coking coal supply deal with Japanese steel maker Nippon Steel and is finalizing another deal with another Japanese steel maker JFE Steel Corp.
The industrial source told Petromindo.Com that Nippon Steel will receive 20,000-30,000 tonnes per month of coking coal, starting this month and that finalization of the deal with JFE is to be completed within this month, the official said.
?The volume to JFE is likely to be double than the volume to Nippon Steel,? the source said.
At present, KSM produces around 700,000 tonnes of coking coal per annum and will double to 1.5 million tonnes per annum in 2012 and to produce 2.5 million tonnes in 2013. (denny)
