Kuansing on track to meet coal output target

Jambi coal miner PT Kuansing Inti Makmur (KIM), a subsidiary of IDX-listed PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk, said it is on track to meet this year?s production target of 2 million tons.
Retno Nartani, Chief Operating Officer of KIM told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that production so far has reached 75 percent of the full-year target.
She said that production next year is projected to be also around 2 million tons considering that the mines are quite far located from the jetty, at around 300 km. She added that the company has yet to develop new markets for its coal products as it currently relies on the group?s pulp industry as market.
Retno said that the company is currently trying to grab new markets including power, cement, and other sectors around Jambi Province.
KIM owns 2,610 hectares of coal concession in Jambi with calorific value of 4,700 kg/kcal GAR and 27 percent total moisture, and 1.1 percent total sulfur contents. Golden Energy also has two other coal mine subsidiaries namely PT Borneo Indo Bara in Tanah Bumbu regency, South Kalimantan, and PT Trisula Kencana Sakti in North and Central Barito regencies, Central Kalimantan province.
