Kufpec keen to increase Indonesia upstream participation

Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec) is aiming to get more oil, gas blocks in Indonesia, according to a government official.

Kardaya Warnika, an expert staff to the minister of energy and mineral resources told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that during a meeting with Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Kufpec chairman expressed the company?s interest to farm-in an oil block in Natuna Sea and to partcipate in new oil exploration blocks that the government is going to offer this year.

Kufpec has working interest in Premier Oil operated Natuna Sea Block A PSC offshore West Natuna, which has already produced gas for sale to Singapore.

It was not clear whether Kufpec wanted to increase interest in Natuna Sea Block A PSC or to farm-in another block in Natuna Sea

Kufpec also operates Seram (Non-Bula) production-sharing contract (PSC) block in Seram island and has 97.5 percent working interest in the block. Kufpec?s Oseil oilfield in Seram PSC is scheduled to flow 12,000 barrels per day of oil by the end of this year.(alex)
