Renewable energy developer PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (IDX: ARKO) is preparing to begin commissioning of its 5.4 MW Kukusan 2 hydropower plant in Lampung Province, with commercial operations targeted for the third quarter of 2025 as scheduled.
“So far, everything is progressing according to plan. We're targeting commercial operation in Q3 this year. The final construction work is being completed, after which commissioning will begin,” said Eko Harry Ariadin, Director of Operations and Engineering at PT Energi Prima Nusantara (EPN), the parent company of Arkora Hydro, in a recent interview with Petromindo.

The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Kukusan 2 project was signed in 2022 between Arkora Hydro’s subsidiary, PT Arkora Energi Baru, and state-owned electricity company PT PLN (Persero).
Arkora Hydro currently holds a total contracted capacity of 42.8 MW from three operating plants: the Cikopo project in West Java (7.4 MW, operational since 2017), the Tomasa project in Central Sulawesi (10 MW, operational since 2020), and the Yaentu project in Central Sulawesi (10 MW, commissioned in 2024). Two additional projects are under construction: Kukusan 2 in Lampung (5.4 MW) and the Tomoni project in South Sulawesi (10 MW).
Eko added that the Tomoni project is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026.
EPN acquired a 26.55% stake in Arkora Hydro last year as part of its broader diversification into renewable energy.
