Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, a well-known figure among business community and governmental officials, plans to resign from the Board of Commissioners of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), an informed source said.
Kuntoro will announce his resignation during the meeting of the Board of Commissioners scheduled to be held on Wednesday at Mulia Hotel in Jakarta.
?I learn that he will resign for a private reason,? Agung Wicaksono, a member of the UP3KN agency at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said. UP3KN is a special agency formed by the ministry to oversee the development of power plant projects.
A source told Petromindo that Kuntoro has been approached to become the president director of copper and gold miner PT Freeport Indonesia to replace Maaroef Syamsudin. However, Kuntoro wasn?t immediately available to confirm the information.
Kuntoro?s work experiences include prestigious positions such as president director of IDX-listed state owned tin mining company PT Timah Tbk, president director of PLN and minister of energy and mineral resources.
