Labor activist transferred to prosecutor's office

Labor activist and coordinator of the SBSI labor union East Kalimantan branch Wuaya Kawilarang was transferred Thursday from the Police arrest to become the custody of the prosecutor's office in the run up to his court trial, the local Kaltim Post daily reported.
The paper said that Wuaya looked healthy. He was picked up by a police car at around 10.15 in the morning.
Wuaya had been under the police arrest since November 12, 2000. Wuaya had been accused of making provocation during the labor strike at oil and gas firm Vico operation in Muara Badak in August. He could face six years in jail.(*)
