Lack of bidders, PLN re-tenders coal supply for Asam-Asam

State electricity firm PLN (Persero) on Thursday announced a re-tender of low CV coal supply pre-qualification (PQ)for its 2 x 65 MW Asam-Asam power plant in South Kalimantan.

PLN?s South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan unit procurement officer told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the company make a re-tender PQ announcement due to lack of participants.

The officer did not give further details.

In the re-tender announcement, PLN said it needed 45,000 tons of coal per month for three years or a total of 1.620 million tons (MT) throughout the contract's period.

The company said that coal CV required is between 4,300 kcal/kg to 4,700 kcal/kg (AR).

The company said eligible bidders are miners or miners-suppliers consortia which have valid mining licenses.

Bid documents can be obtained at PLN (Persero) South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan office at Jl. Panglima Batur Barat No.1, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan from July 20 through July 28 with bid submission scheduled for July 29 ? August 4, 2010.

PQ announcement will be made on Aug. 6, 2010. (denny)
