Lafarge Cement secures coal supply deal from Sumatra mines

Cement maker PT Lafarge Cement Indonesia, an Indonesian unit of French industrial company Lafarge has settled its coal supply deal from Sumatra coal mines, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

The company has bought the coal from Sumatra miners, including PT Permata Resources? coal unit PT Riau Bara Harum and South Sumatra mine PT Bara Alam Utama with total capacity of 400,000 tonnes per year, the official said.

Lafarge Cement Indonesia, which located in Aceh has a capacity of 1.6 million tonnes per annum of cement.

The coal is used for clinker and its power plants, the official added. (denny)
