PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), the 20 MW unit 6 of the Lahendong geothermal power plant in North Sulawesi is expected to start commissioning in the fourth week of December.
This was said by PGE President Director Irfan Zainuddin to Petromindo.com. ?Preparations are underway for pre-commissioning in the fourth week of December,? he said.
Last month, Irfan said that the unit 6 of the Lahendong power plant would start commercial operation in December of this year.
The Lahendong unit 5, with capacity of 20 MW, started commercial operation in the middle of September, providing additional power supply for the North Sulawesi system from the Lahendong geothermal power plant unit 1-4 with combined capacity of 80 MW.
PGE has previously said it planned to develop unit 7 and unit 8 in the future, but it will require the company to carry out the drilling of three new geothermal wells for unit 7 and four new wells for unit 8.
