Indian firm Lanco Infratech Limited Group Ltd., is eyeing Indonesian coal mine acquisitions, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday.

?We prefer a producing mine. The mine can produce at least 4 million tonnes per annum of coal,? the official has said.

The calorific value is around 6,000-up kcal/kg (ADB), the official said.

In 2009, Lanco had talked with PT Truba Alam Manunggal to acquire the latter?s thermal coal mine in South Sumatra for US$80-90 million, but later the deal collapsed without clear reason.

Lanco, currently operates 1,200 MW coal-fired power plants in India and the firm has planned to expand its power generation capacity by 1,000 MW each year. (denny)
