Landlord gains wide support from farmers to attack PT Badak NGL

A local landlord by the name of Aco Abubakar Siddik repeated his earlier threat on Monday to attack LNG gas producer PT Badak NGL unless the company pay compensation for its gas pipeline, which passes through his 11.9 ha land in the Sekambing area, South Bontang, East Kalimantan.

The local Kaltim Post daily said that Aco received full support from some 30 heads of farming groups to realize the attack.

Aco recently threaten to send thousands of people to attack Badak NGL after his men had a fight with the company's security officers who had been trying to putt off a fire set up by Aco's men. The security officers feared that the fire could cause serious trouble to the gas pipeline, but Aco insisted that he could do anything as he wish on his plot of land. (*)
