Lanna extends mining contract with Buma

East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT Lanna Harita Indonesia has extended coal mining contract for another year with PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri (BUMA) for another year until 2011, a company official said on Monday.

The official said Buma will be responsible to produce 80 percent of LHI?s this year production target of 1.7 million tonnes.

Previous contract with Buma was for 5 years.

The official said LHI will allocate 500,000 tonnes of this year?s production to domestic market, including to state electricity firm PT PLN (Persero), which is currently under negotiation.

LHI is a unit of Thai firm Lanna Resources Public Ltd. (denny)
