Lanna?s coal unit in talks to extend MBSS contract

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Singlurus Pratama, a unit of Thai firm Lanna Group, and IDX-listed integrated coal transport & logistics services provider PT Mitra Bahtera Segara Sejati Tbk (MBSS) are currently in negotiation to extend the current transhipment services contract, an industry source told Petromindo.com.

Under the current deal, which was signed for 4-year contract starting July 2009, Singlurus should provide a minimum quantity of 1.44 million tons of coal over the contract period

The negotiation is expected to be done before the end of the second quarter of this year, the source said.

Singlurus mine is located in Kutai Kartanegara and North Paser Penajam regencies with the total concession of about 24,000 hectares. Singlurus produces around 2.5 million tons per year of coal.
