Lanna to acquire more Indonesian coalmines

Thailand’s coal-mining firm Lanna Resources Plc. is planning to spend US$ 45 million to acquire three mining concessions in Indonesia as part of its effort to boost future production, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported Tuesday.
The daily, quoting Bloomberg, reported that Lanna director Singhsak Arirachkarun said that the three mines might be acquired through joint venture with other companies.
The report did not give further detail about the mines’ locations.
Lanna is already in Indonesian coal mining business through its 63 percent ownership in medium sized East Kalimantan mining company PT. Lanna Harita Indonesia.(*)
