LAPI ITB carries out FEED works on Arun-Belawan project

PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) has appointed PT LAPI ITB, a commercial arm of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) that provides services in training, consultancy and technology development, to conduct the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) works on the Arun-Belawan pipeline project.

The pipeline will be used to deliver gas from the Arun regasification project in Banda Aceh to Belawan in North Sumatra. Pertagas has set aside US$300 million for the project, but final investment would depend on the results from the FEED works, said President Director Gunung Sardjono.

?At present, FEED works are being carried out by LAPI ITB. God willing, the works will be completed in September or October,? Gunung told petromindo.com. On the pipeline project, Gunung said that by the end of 2013, the firm expects to complete the South Lhok Sukon-Pangkalan Batu route, which will be followed by the Pangkalan Batu-Belawan line.

Separately, Vice President of LNG at Pertamina Daniel Purba told petromindo.com that the tender for EPC for the pipeline project could be completed by the end of 2012.
